March 7th, 2011

Winter Baja 2011 went well we placed 6th with our prototype car and top 25 with our Western Washington competition car. we are now starting work on the new front end of the Peoria competition car. We will be keeping the same rear end design from the prototype car and implementing it into a new more efficient front end. The Peoria Competition will be held from June 8th the the 11th in Peoria, Illinois.

The Prototype car fabrication is going well. The rear end seems like it will work up to our expectations and will definitely be an advance from our previous designs. The winter competition will be on the 18th of February in Lake Linden, Michigan about an 8hr drive up north.

February 2, 2011

Work on the prototype chassis is making its way towards completion. Winter competition will be our true testing for our new design to be implemented in our new vehicle used for the summer competition. We have been working later in the nights in the shop to get as much work done as we can before February 18th which is the date of our competition.

Anyone that is interested in attending the Washington Baja Competition from May 15th through the 28th let me know now.  Reply back to this email this week!  The trip's transportation and lodging will be paid for; moreover, the only money you will need is for food pre and post competition.  Major meals during the competition are supplied by sponsors at the event.  We will be doing some sort of camping on the drive up and be hanging in the desert or something exciting after the competition in Washington or Idaho.  Even if your name is on the board, reply back with a Yes or No PLEASE.

NIU CEET Polo's are available.  They are 10 bucks.  Everyone that is going to Washington is required to wear one for the various presentations and such.  I am making an order form now so don't wait on this!  (how many, what size?)

November 3rd, 2009

Dean Vohra, HPV Team, and The Mini Baja Team are putting together a dinner in memoriam of Alex.  His family will be attending and we would like everyone to attend to share stories and talk about the good times we had with Alex.  It will be held Monday, November 16th at 5:00PM.  Traditional Thanksgiving style food will be served at 6.  Dress casual and bring your stories.  See everyone there!

November 1st, 2009

The month of October was great success.  We have some enthused members who are anxious to get working on the new car.  The old car is fixed and driving.  We are in the process of trying to break it.  It will serve as a good back up design incase we fail on our new gear box design.  We are planning a memorial dinner for Alex; therefore, his parents and brothers will be attending along with some relatives.  It will be a big even with home cooked food.  Find out how to help plan for this event.

Chassis design is almost complete.  Good ideas are on the drawing board to finalize the 6 speed trans and drive train.  Suspension design is in good hands.  Team meeting will be Thursday at 5:30ish in the lab.  Work on sponsorship, steel invoice, and getting the car back together for homecoming is are primary task.  See everyone tomorrow!
